The Millennials vs. Gen Z battle is one that has been on for a while and it’s not looking like we are getting out of it anytime soon.
We’ve had customers say things like, “I don’t like rowdy parties with those small children o!” — usually Millennials
And others who say, “I just want the vibe to be wild and free!” — usually Gen Zs
Guess what? We serve the best of both worlds.
At House of Oni, we curate events for all walks of life—but for the sake of this write-up, let’s focus on two of our faves: Millennials and Gen Zs.
For the Millennials
They love a good throwback. That’s why our R&B parties and even karaoke nights are always a hit. We’re talking blues from the 80s and 90s—pure nostalgia.
It’s always a vibe watching our crowd sing their hearts out to their favorite songs.
Have you ever seen a room full of grown folks doing karaoke to Boyz II Men or Brandy? Whew. Goosebumps.
Our R&B party happens every first Friday of the month, and it’s become such a staple that some of our regulars now plan their birthdays, anniversaries, or even date nights around it.
So, if you’re a Millennial (1981 – 1996), this one’s definitely for you. Mark your calendar.
For the Gen Zs
Our ever-bubbling and vibrant Gen Z audience is a different breed.
They want energy, vibes, and something fresh.
That’s why we host:
- Silent disco nights (yes, with the headsets and multi-channel music)
- Games nights
- Pool parties
- Beach parties
These events are all about high energy and maximum fun. But here’s the twist: even though Gen Zs are known for being loud, they love the switch-up that silent disco brings. It’s a whole different experience, and they get to hop between channels and vibe however they want. Total win.
But Here’s the Thing…
While we’re highlighting these events based on generation, it’s really about personal preference.
Millennials pull up to beach parties, silent discos, and pool parties too. Gen Zs show out at karaoke as well.
So don’t box yourself in—come for what you love and discover even more while you’re at it.
Now Over to You, Dear Reader…
Which of these events speaks to your soul?
Are you Team R&B or Team Silent Disco?
And tell us, what is your take on the Millennials vs. Gen Z silent rift going on?
Let us know in the comments and tell us which generation you represent—we really want to hear from you.
